Links Page

Please find below links to a range of websites I have found most useful. Who knows some of them may be of some help to you too!
Amateur Radio:
The Radio Society of Great Britain
I think it is important for us Hams to have a voice piece to represent us before
the powers to be. I would encourage each Ham and aspiring Hams to join the RSGB.
Apart from a nifty magazine which you will receive on a monthly basis you will
strengthen the society by your membership. Also if you want to find out about
Amateur Radio to see what it is all about this is the place to look for.
www.rsgb.org
The Data Communications Committee
To find out about Internet Gateways in the UK and about Data Coms bandplans this
is the website to go for. You will find information on how to apply for a NoV to
set up your own gateway.
Eham.net
Eham.net is a really interesting website. I stumbled over it when I wanted to
read reviews about radios I was about to buy. The site has interesting
discussion groups and you'll find there tons of information about Amateur Radio.
Unfortunately for us Brits the site is in the US and mainly focussed on issues
over there. Still there are lot's of us who participate on the site and
contribute the odd comment. I would recommend it though to check it out.
RF Cafe
If you need any engineering information with respect to RF engineering or
general electronics engineering RF Cafe is the site to go for. I have used it a
lot for work when I had to prepare lectures based on RF. The site is almost like
a reference library.

WACRAL
WACRAL is the World Association of Christian Radio Amateurs and Listeners.
WACRAL members want to encourage Christian fellowship by the means of Amateur
Radio. There are several nets on HF and VHF throughout the week. Why not give
them a call and join in.
Freundeskreis Christlicher Funkamateure (FCF)
The FCF is a German organisation of Christian Radio Amateurs. FCF is affiliated
with WACRAL and often our friends from the FCF join us on our annual convention.
Find out about the frequencies and times for the skeds and join us on air.
Echolink
Echolink is a fantastic system to access repeaters worldwide from your computer.
It is a bit like cheating the ionosphere to achieve reliable communications
across the globe. To me it has been an interesting experience to talk to friends
in Germany from my UHF handheld. The software is easy and intuitive to set up
and who knows you may be inspired to set up your own echolink repeater.
70 MHz/4m Website
Here in the UK we have had the fortune of having access to the 4m band. A band
with amazing groundwave propagation and a very low noise threshold. It has been
interesting to explore. Since more 70MHz PMR equipment has become available
there is notably more activity on the band. The website will give you some
history on how we got access to the band and the various skeds on 4m here in the
UK.
Internationally there a few other countries that allow access to the band. All
in all it is probably my favourite band.

Christian Websites:
Radio Eden
Radio Eden is a company pioneering small community radio stations in third
world countries. The aim is to empower communities and to offer Christian
broadcasters locally and internationally and platform to operate from.
Crosswalk Website
Crosswalk is a Christian resources website. All sorts of materials can be
found on there. It's good to check it out.
Online Bible
If you are looking for a Bible to be installed on your computer or for
versions in other languages than your own this is the website. I have used it
many times for a download to get the latest version. A terrific tool for your
personal Bible study. You want your Bible on your computer that will be the
website for you.
Premier Television
For online Christian TV go to Premier's TV channel. You can watch the life
stream or you can select from programmes. The quality is excellent and I have
been streaming it through the VGA port on my main TV from my laptop.
Christian Online Music Radio Station
My favourite Christian online music radio station is Acaza.com. Acaza offers
three music streams of contemporary Christian music.
Sermonaudio
Sermonaudio is a good website to use to fill up your MP3 players with Sermons
that catch your interest. Some of my favourite preachers are on the website. In
total you will find literally thousands of sermons on almost anything.
General Interest Websites:

Paderborn
Paderborn is my home QTH, the very place where I was born and bred. The town is
right in the heart of Germany in East-Westphalia. The website is the official
website of the town. There are also some webcams hooked up which look at one of
the main shopping streets in Paderborn. In 1977 Paderborn had it's 1200 years
anniversary. A lot of buildings date right back to medieval times and the town
itself is teeming with history. Whenever I am back in Paderborn I am active on
air as DL-G7IDJ-P
The symbol above is unique to Paderborn. Three rabbits with three ears and
yet every rabbit has two ears. The so-called 'Dreihasenfenster' -
Three-Rabbits-Window is found in the cathedral of the city.

Wombwell
Wombwell is the little village where my present QTH is. The town is located at
the northern end of the Dearne Valley and is located between Barnsley and
Sheffield in the County of South Yorkshire. Some of it's history is mentioned on
the intro page of this site. At e-Wombwell you can get some up to date pictures
and learn a little bit about the local peculiarities.
